Gordon Parks

1. His 1948 photo essay on the life of a Harlem gang leader was the thing that won him his widespread acclaim and a position as the first African American staff photographer for Life.

2. He also wrote, music composition, filmmaking and painting

3. Segregation in the South, 1956

I really like this image because of the deep history and sadness it portrays. At the top it says colored entrance which is a sign of segregation.
